RE: all 3 batteries dead??

Thanks everyone, we had the engine battery charged and the rv started right up so we could drive it home and will check everything you all suggested. Bill said there was a chance he forgot the disconnect switch when we parked it a month age-senior moment-.
In any event it sound like we need to be looking for new house batteries.
I am so glad there are so many knowledgable people on here willing to give advise.
Thanks a bunch, Karen

all 3 batteries dead??

All 3 batteries on our 2000 Pace Arrow are dead. The engine one is new, bought in July. Any ideas on what could have happened? I can understand one but all three? We hope to take it to see the children over Thanksgiving but don't want get there and have problems
The house batteries are the original and we can replace them today if we can find them, they are Trojan. The new engine battery is being recharged at Auto Zone and we are leaving to get it now.
Hope you great people have some ideas and help for us.
Thanks a bunch, Karen

Thanks Nolan, I didn't even thing about bugs. Spiders don't bother me as long and they don't sneak up on me but I sure don't like things that bite and have to be swatted all the time.

RE: Slide problem

Something like that happened to us and it turned out to be the roller. Bill ordered one from the company, put a jack under the slide to hold it up and replaced the roller. Took about 2 hours. Just makew sure the company sends the right pins to hold the roller back in place4.

UP Michigan workkamping

Bill and I would like to spend next summer in the UP workkamping and wondered if any of you have worked in the area and have any tips for us.
We have never workkamped but I ran a small cleaning service for 25 years and Bill can do almost anything relating to general repairs and lawn care. We have also organized and led camping and canoe trips to several states. I am hoping these qualifications will offset the lack of workkamping experiense. What do you think?
Thanks in advance for your help, insight and information.

RE: For Employers - Workamper Package

We are planning on workcamping next year and bathrooms are fine with me. I had a small cleaning service for 25 years and think having my hands in toilets all of those years could be why I am so healthy. Built up my immunity and put bunches of calouses on my hands, proud of every one of them too.

RE: bar harbor attactions, and must see sights

We are at Bar Harbor CG overlooking the water right now. Have been here since Sun. and have had no trouble with bugs. There are blueberries all over the place here free for the picking.
All ideas presented so far are great. We are having so much fun we are staying another week.

RE: campgrounds-adirondacks-help

Thanks Bob, I will look up the KOA but we were hoping for something between Lake George and Lake Placid if that is possible. Otherwise we will just have to pick one place or the other and do more driving to see everything.

campgrounds-adirondacks-help

We are in a 36ft rv and are looking at either adirondack camping village or lake george schroon valley campgrounds, anyone with info about either? comments on rv park rviews wern't good about lake george schroon valley but some post here semed to think it was ok. We plan to tour as much of the area as we can in a week or so and only need something clean and relatively quiet. I will appreciate hearing from anyone who has knowledge of these campgrounds or others like these, We are not interested in the nice one with all of the activities for kids as it is way too expensive. Thanks a bunch.

I-86 in new york

Can you tell me about I-86 from the Penn. line to Corning NY? My map shows a scenic route thru there so I was wondering about grades, etc. We are going to Watkins Glen for a week or so then on to the Adirondacks for a while and know nothing about roads in the northeast. Thankis for your help.

RE: Paula Deen's Buffet at the Harrah's (Grand) Tunica

I tried it a couple of weeks ago and still like the buffet at the Horseshoe better. It was laid out nice but The food wasn't anything to brag about, however you might like it.

RE: Paddling in the NE

thanks again for the info, will give Saco a call. We used to canoe the Ocoee but our old bones aren't what they used to be. You're right it was a blast. We still paddle the Nantahala but it's only a class 2-3. Our raft is not much bigger than a two man kayak but it weighs enough that I don't want to carry it if I am not going to get much use out of it.

Paddling in the NE

We are trying to decide whether to take our 2-man raft with us to the NE. I know there are many rivers to run but Since we don't boat alone was wondering if anyone knew whether or not we would be able to others to paddle with. Around the Nantahala and Ocoee you can always find someone to hook up with but we would to know our chances of hooking up with someone in the NE before we loaded up the boat.
Another question, would this same 2-person raft work for paddling around the bays in Me or do you think it would be too much work? We have a canoe but it is a whitewater boat and does not track well on flat water.
Thanks for any and all help, Karen

Cuyahoga Valley NP

Anyone know anything about this area, what to do, where to stay? It will be a nice stop for us on our way from Louisville headed toward Bar Harbor. Any and all information will be appreciated. We have a 36ft. class A and just need a nice, no frills place to rest our weary bones for a couple of nights.
Thanks, Karen
